Blue Air flights have been available on the market since 2004. There are many various destinations, for example Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The The carrier has nine operational bases, which are located in Alghero, Bucharest, Bacau, Cluj-Napoca, Constanţa, Iasi, Larnaca, Liverpool and Turin.

Blue Air is a full IATA member and has received the certificate of IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) from the International Air Transportation Association (IATA).


Blue Air baggage

Each airline has its own baggage policy. At Blue Air, passengers can take on board one hand baggage without any additional baggage fees. The hand luggage should not exceed 10 kg in weight and 55 x 40 x 20 cm in size.

Passengers can have up to 4 pieces of checked-in luggage, each piece should not exceed 32 kg in weight and 100 x 80 x 30 cm in size. The acceptable weight depend on the selected booking class (20 kg for the Classic travel class and 32 kg for the Premium travel class).


Blue Air booking classes

There are 3 booking classes at Blue Air: Light, Classic and Premium. All these classes are related to free check-in.

Light class is dedicated to people who don't want to pay too much for the travel. There is one hand baggage included in the ticket price.

Classis class is for passengers who want to travel with additional small checked-in baggage (20 kg) and want to choose their seat. They also have 50% discount for date or route change fee.

The Premium class is related to a larger checked-in baggage (32kg). Passengers can choose their seat, receive free meals on most routes and they don't have to pay for booking changes.


Blue Air check in online

Blue Air check in online is available 30 days before departure and no later than 12 hours before the flight. If there are any changes to the booking, passengers must check in again. Blue Air offers online check-in on almost every route. However, there are some exceptions, such as Lisbon, Palma de Mallorca or Tel Aviv.


The fleet consists of various machines, such as Boeing 737, series 737-300, 737-400, 737-500, 737-700 and 737-800.

In 2017, the company announced an order for twelve Boeing 737 MAX 8, which will enter the fleet from the second quarter of 2019.



The carrier has its main base in Bucharest-Otopeni (Henri Coandă International Airport).

The airport is located approximately 16 km from the city center. Passengers can get there by train, by bus (the last stop is Gara de Nord), by taxi or rented car.

However, Blue Air also has other operational bases. The bases are located in Bacău, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Iași (Romania), Alghero, Turin (Italy), Larnaca (Cyprus) and Liverpool (the UK).
