Condor

Airlines Condor Airlines is the largest holiday carrier not only in Germany, but also in the world. Considering the size of the fleet and the number of passengers served, it is the third largest German airline. 

Condor Airlines was founded in 1955. The original name was Deutsche Flugdienst GmbH, but after being taken over by Condor-Luftreederei in 1961, it was changed to Condor Flugdienst. The first long-haul carrier was launched by the carrier in 1962 and it was flights to Kenya, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Condor has also been providing charter flights since 1965. In 1969, 40% of Condor's shares were acquired by Lufthansa. About 20 years later, German airlines in cooperation with Turkish Airlines, bearing in mind the leisure traffic on the Germany – Turkey route, launched SunExpress airlines, and in 1991 Condor airlines were the first among charter airlines to introduce a ticket in a more comfortable booking class than economical. 

From 2000, Lufthansa's shares in Condor were gradually acquired by the British charter airline Thomas Cook Airlines, until in 2009 Condor was fully taken over by them. During this period, the name of the line changed to Thomas Cook powered by Condor. However, the lines returned to their name Condor Flugdienst and since 2021 has belonged to investment funds.

German airlines offer regular flights to holiday destinations in the Mediterranean, Asia, Africa, North America, South America and the Caribbean, and its main base is Frankfurt am Main.

Booking classes

With Condor airlines you can travel in the Economy, Premium Economy and Business class. The Economy class is standard. In Premium Economy passengers have more comfortable seats, with a greater unfolding angle, more legroom and the ability to reserve seats free of charge. In the Business class, the seats are fully automated and unfold to an angle of 170 degrees.

Online check-in

Passengers of Condor Airlines can check in online on most routes from 24 hours to 2 hours before take-off. This option does not concern group travel, travel with animals, travel with special luggage or in the case of the travel of unaccompanied minors.

Fleet

The Condor fleet consists of Airbus A320-200, A321-200, Boeing 757-300, 767-300ER and Airbus A330neo aircraft.

Comfortable and ecological travel on long-haul routes is provided by 16 modern Airbus A330neo aircraft. They are the quietest machines in their class, emitting 20% less CO2 on the routes they serve. Thanks to the new design, the A330neo has a completely new space for Business Class and spacious seats in Economy Class.

Condor airlines offer meals inspired by the flavors of the world on board their aircraft. The Taste the World menu includes hot dishes, snacks and drinks, typical of different cultures. Taste the World offers three menus: Standard, Premium or Gourmet. Their availability as part of the purchased ticket depends on the selected class and flight route

On short-haul flights lasting more than 2 hours and medium-haul flights, passengers in Economy Best Class receive a free snack and water or juice. In turn, Business Class passengers - one of the dishes from the Taste the World menu. On the other hand, on long-haul routes, passengers receive a hot meal, a cold snack and soft drinks included in the ticket price. In the case of Economy Class, these are meals from the Standard Menu, in the case of Premium Economy Class - Classic Premium Menu, and in Business Class - Classic Gourmet Menu. It is also possible to order meals from menus other than those assigned to the class for an additional fee. In addition, you can avial of special meals - from the vegetarian, vegan or lactose-free menu.

Additional services

On board Condor aircraft, passengers of all classes have access to inflight entertainment, including movies, TV series, radio stations, music channels.

Business and Premium Economy Class passengers have access to Premium Entertainment service at no extra charge. Economy Class passengers, on the other hand, can choose from several popular movies and TV shows, but for a small fee they will have access to the full Premium Entertainment service offer. The audio and video content can be used with standard headphones; in Business Class and Premium Economy Class they are available free of charge.

The airlines also offer the possibility of using the Mileage Plan loyalty program.
